Extra attackWhenever you get a Princess, make it the leader of your group, each member of the unit will have an extra attack.
TristanTo get Tristan you must have the royal key, after you defeat debonair return to Zenobia, go to the small island to the north-west, and nurse will greet you and ask if you intend to be king, answer no and she will give you the royal key.  Now go to the city of Milano and liberate the two southern most cities, before the boss, with your leader's unit, Tristan will appear and join your army.
Hidden citiesOn Galf's map, where it appears there is only one city, to the north there is a full half score of hidden cities, in the visible city you can but crystal orbs which reveal hidden cities.
GolemOn Fenril's sky island in the rivers, neutral character, steel Golem will attack high charisma units, ask them to join you, this is the only place to find them.
WerewolfSent in by PeteOn the werewolf map, have a flying unit move around in the mountains to the south-east, neutral characters: Werewolf will attack you, ask them to join you, this is the only place to find them.
PumpkinTo recruit the character Pumpkin, do not kill Deneb, in fact forgive her. If you have a low reputation she may join your army, but if she does not she will ask you to get her a golden Bough.  These are in Norn's map, sold in the shop.  Take it back to Deneb and she will give you the glass pumpkin, use this on a witch as you would a crown on a princess, that particular witch can now recruit pumpkins.
Lichs and Sorcerors tipLichs and Sorcerors do not need to be in a city to recruit undead characters.
How to collect all of the Zodiac StonesAfter completing the pogrom forest, return there and go to the far north-west, go to the hidden city and a wizard will give you the quicksilver, take this to Gizalfy in the Desert (farther in the game), do as each wizard asks and you'll receive three gems, take these to Shangrila.  There Fellana will give you the tablet of Yaru.  Now revisit all of the maps you have completed going to all the hidden temples, as you go you will receive zodiac gems and a ginger cake.  Take the ginger cake to the girl on Norn's map.  She will find another gem.  This is how you collect all of the Zodiac Stones.
How to get Undead RingsSome may think you have to battle over and over again hoping an enemy unit will drop one, but there are plenty of ways to get this item, in Sharom Border, after you defeat Usar go back to the map and go to the town with the shop, a wizard will appear and ask for the book of the dead, a useless item that you get later in the game... here is where you can find this item:1.  Go to Milano Castle after defeating the Baron2.  Go to Slust's sky island and go to all of the cities, one will give you a book of the dead. Take these to the wizard for an undead ring3.  After you defeat Fogel, return to his island, visit all of the cities and you'll receive the Dragon Jewel, do not sell it to Toad, instead take it to the temple hidden in the mountains and trade it for an undead ring.
How to get undead staff'sSame with the undead staff, you can get these as well without fighting.1.  In Norn's map, after you defeat Norn return and go to the hidden magic city in the far north-east, you can trade sentoul demons for undead staff.2.  After defeating the army of the undead in the far south after Kalbi-Penisula, return to Omicron's fortress, a person will give you his undead staff.
Princess CrownA very elusive item, there is one in a town on Slust's sky island, return to the map after defeating slust and a man will ask you if beauty and elegance are important for a lady, in a town to the far north-west, answer yes and he will give you the princess crown.
Dragon's HavenTo get to a secret stage called Dragon's Haven with seven units of very powerful characters, start a new game and enter the name "FIRESEAL." The characters you get will be based on how you answer the questions at the beginning of the game. Once you complete this level, the game will end, then you will get a short ending. 
Sound testOn the Name Select screen, enter MUSIC/ON as your name, then press A. To scroll through the musical selection, press Up or Down on the Control Pad and press Start to play them.
