Level 8-4 tips
Level 8-4 can be kind of confusing, and down right frustrating after a
while. Here's a little help... the pipes that you should go down always
follow a lava hazard. First keep going until you see lava, then go across
it using the mover, and go down the next pipe. When you come up go to
the right (as if you have a choice). After a small lava pool there are 2
winged turtles and a pipe in the air. Kill the turtles and to the left of
the pipe, about 2 spaces over, is a hidden block. Hit it, then go down the
pipe. When you come up go to the right again, look out for the flying fish,
and go down the pipe after the small lava hazard. This should bring you to
an underwater world. Go through that world, and the pipe at the end. When
you come up you should see a hammer brother, the next enemy after that is
the last one. Get the axe, save the princess, and start all over again.
Warp to World 6, 7, or 8

To get to warp to World 6, 7, or 8, go to World 4-2 and go through the level
until you find the ? blocks. Jump over the pit and move to the square
under the last block above. Jump, and a secret block will appear.
Jump on top, break the block above, and the one to the left of it.
Fall to the left, and jump. Another secret block will appear. Jump
on that, hit your head on the one and break the first block. A beanstalk
will go up! Climb it and go through the level. Then there will be warp
zone to Level 6, 7 and 8.
Secret World

Go to the end of World 1-2 where you make the decision to jump up to
the warp or go to 1-3. There you move over to where it shows just the
pipe and the blocks on top. Then you hit each block out that you can,
until just the 2 farthest to the right are there, then you get on the
left edge of the pipe, face left, duck and jump to the right into the
wall. If your luckly, you may go through the wall. Go in the pipe to
the left. If that won't work, face left, on the left edge of the pipe,
and while standing, jump to the right into the wall to the right.
This will take you to the famous World -1 level that never ends.
Warp to World 5

After you do the trick at the end of World 1-2 that lets you float
through the wall (see Ben Brand's tip, above this tip), instead of going
into the 1st pipe on the left and entering the minus world, go into the
middle pipe. This will warp you straight to World 5-1!!! If you go
into the pipe on the right, it will also take you to the -1 world.
Don't move too far to the right, though, or everything will turn into
the regular warp zone again.
99 lives

Go to Level 3-1 almost to the end where there's a big row of stairs
with two turtles on it. Let the first one fall and then go to the second
and wait for it to be barely off the edge. Jump on it and keep jumping
on it to get 99 lives. Don't get more then 99 lives or you might get a
Game Over.
Be small and have Fire power

I haven't gotten this trick to work yet in Super Mario All-Stars,
so it may have been taken out, but it does work in the original
NES version. The only level I've gotten it to work on, is Level
2-4, but I think it works in others too.. Here's what you do.
First, you need to get to Bowser with either Big Mario or Fire
Mario. Now, this is the tricky part. You have to hit the axe
(while still in the big form) AND Bowser at the SAME time
(trust me, it's possible). This will cause you to shrink down,
and Bowser will fall into the lava. Now, In world 3-1 (or
which ever world comes next, if you do it in a level other
than 2-4), and get the first Mushroom. You will grow big
for a second, and then shrink again. Now, go to the next
item block (it's important that you don't get hit), and hit it.
A Fire Flower will pop up. When you get it, you will still
be small, but every time you shoot a fireball, Mario will
grow big for a brief instant to shoot it, and shrink again.
This trick wares off once you get hit. I'm not sure if it's still
there if you beat the level, since I never could without getting
hit once, but it might.
This trick also works somewhat when you are small Mario at
Bowser, but it produces different effects. What happens, is
when you hit the axe and Bowser at the same time when you're
small, Mario will do his little Death Scene, but he floats at an
angle into the area where the Mushroom guy is and falls through
the floor next to him. I'm not sure if you lose a life or not, but
I don't think that it causes any other effects other than Mario
dyeing in the Mushroom Guy's room.
Fireworks
Catch the flagpole at the end of the stage when the last digit of the
timer is a 1, 3, or 6. One, three, or six bursts of fireworks will go
off, giving you 500 points for each.
Continue
When your game is over, hold A and press Start on the Title screen.
This lets you continue from the beginning of the world that you were
defeated in.
Game Genie codes
cheat codes sent in from Planet Zeekois
VVAANY Timer counts up instead of down!! This code basically
gives you as much time as you want to finish a level. The longer you
take to finish a level, the more points you get at the end!!
AETLTK Jump as high as you want! Works while standing, running,
or turbo running! (No need to enter 3 seperate jump codes anymore,
because this one code will do the work of all 3 jump codes in the
Galoob code book. Plus, this code allows you to jump MUCH higher
than any of the Galoob codes.)
PIATYP Enemies can go thru pipes, walls, and blocks! Mario (as usual)
can't go thru pipes, walls, or blocks. This code really changes the way
you play SMB.
AEAENT Mario can jump higher when walking, running, or turbo running!
Also, he jumps further (only when normal running).
PAZSKO Once you turn into Fire Mario, you will always be able to shoot
fireballs, even if you turn small again (until you die). Also, if you touch
an enemy, it will make you power-up!! (On some emulator ROMs, the code
will make you invincible.)
ANTOSA Ever have trouble remembering which pipes you can
